Behavioral Objectives/Learning Outcomes:
I would like the children to become aware of how cold it has to be for snowflakes to form. I would also like them to understand the different textures depending on how cold the weather is.

Procedures: (Step by Step how to do the activity)
The children with help will make Snow playdough and gather a variety of small plastic animals. In a large bowl they will add- 1 cup of flour- pinch of salt- 1tbsp of oil- 1tsp white paint and 2 tbsp of baking soda. The children will then knead all ingredients together shaping the ingredients into a ball. With a rolling pin they will smooth it out and place it on a flat tray. With the small plastic animals they will make small footprints in the dough.
Materials:
White playdough -Tray
Rolling pin- small plastic animals
Wrap-up:
Children will identify small animal prints in the playdough.
Children will understand more about the way snow forms.
Assessment
Experiment with different materials on different surfaces to produce a variety of effects.
Modifications: If you don't have play dough ingredients you can use white flour on a tray to make animal footprints.
Helpful Hints:
If dough does not form add more oil ,if you have no plastic animals make prints with fingers.
