What is our theme? Ice cube painting 


What is the lesson (overall purpose)?  
Learning other ways you can paint other than using a paintbrush 

MA Guidelines/Standards:
APL4: The child will demonstrate creativity in thinking and use of materials.
APL8: The child will be able to retain and recall information.

Learning Outcomes:
To be able to work on their fine motor skills 


Songs, Books & Videos (Motivational Techniques)

Materials
  1. paint 
  2. ice tray
  3. popsicle sticks 
  4. paper
  5. tin foil

Activity (Procedure):
  1. Fill each cube of the ice tray half way with different colors of paint and the other half with water.
  2. After filling with paint, cover the tray with tin foil.
  3. In each cube polk a hole with the popsicle stick very gentle, and leave the stick in the cube 
  4. After placing the sticks in each cube, place the tray in the freezer and freeze for about 3 hours or until color cubes are frozen.


Activity Wrap Up:
Ask your child, how do you think the paint was able to freeze? 

How do I know what my child is learning? (Assessment)
Is your child able to hold the stick the proper way to paint

Helpful Hints: (Pitfalls & Solutions)

If you don’t have popsicle sticks, you can grab some sticks from outside
